CCRtL’s 2010 March for Life Trip

Because of our desire to see unborn children protected in our country and around the world, Caldwell County Right to Life traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in the 37th annual March for Life. Since 1973, over 50 million unborn babies have been lost through legalized abortion. An estimated 300,000 pro-life citizens gathered at the nation’s capital on January 22nd, 2010, to commemorate the tragic decision of Roe v. Wade and to speak out on behalf of those who have no voice. Following are some photos from our experience at the March.

Mike Huckabee on Abortion

On January 17, 2010, former governor Mike Huckabee participated in the annual March for Life in Little Rock, Arkansas. In this brief interview, he articulates his belief that abortion is not only a religious issue; it is a human rights issue. 

As Caldwell County Right to Life prepares to take part in the national March for Life in Washington, D.C., we applaud the courage of pro-life leaders who are also willing to take a public stand in defense of the unborn.

2010 March for Life

On January 22, 2010, the annual March for Life will be held in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the 50 million unborn lives lost through legalized abortion since 1973. The event will take place on the 37th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade. Caldwell County Right to Life plans to take part in this important event.

We will be sponsoring a bus trip to Washington, D.C., to ensure that the citizens of Caldwell County are represented at the 2010 March. Participants will meet at 6:00 am at the Rock Chapel Church of God  in Granite Falls, NC, on Thursday, January 21. We will travel to D.C., participate in the March for Life on Friday, and then depart for North Carolina at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23. There is no charge for transportation. Participants will be responsible to pay for their meals and 2 nights at the hotel. We will provide further information regarding hotel costs in the near future.

CCRtL 2009 Review

2009 was a very important year for the pro-life cause, and Caldwell County Right to Life stayed busy with its efforts to educate the public regarding the sanctity and dignity of every human life. In addition to holding monthly meetings, CCRtL also participated in the following activities during 2009:

• January  Trip to Raleigh for North Carolina March for Life
• May  Annual Mothers’ Walk for Life in downtown Lenoir
• June  Participation in 2009 National Right to Life Convention in Charlotte, NC
• October  Educational booth at 2009 Caldwell County Agricultural Fair
• December  Float for Granite Falls Christmas Parade

In addition to sponsoring local events, CCRtL also worked to spread the pro-life message through various forms of advertising:

• Ads on every prescription bag distributed by Hudson Drug and Burke Pharmacy
• Ad benches in five locations throughout Caldwell County
• WYCV radio ads broadcast twice daily
• Ad in Caldwell Early College High School 2010 yearbook (to be published)
